How to Excel in Internet Marketing
Hello! Welcome back did you enjoy this post? Did you hate it? Unless you tell us we won't know, so go ahead and make a comment on this post and we promise to stop nagging!
I have been in sales for many years including selling encyclopedias and children’s books for many years. I worked with pre set appointments and sold these products with an in home presentation. When I started selling products online it was more challenging than I though it would be.
First you have to find great products or a company to align with. I don’t believe in reinventing the wheel so I would advise aligning with a good company that has a high quality product line that you can be passionate about. You should also carefully evaluate the compensation plan to ascertain that you will be paid well for your efforts. Many companies have their own marketing system and you should try to find one that is in line with your way of thinking. In other words they should have a good capture page with follow up emails and a strong sales page. The following methods of online promotion have worked well for me and continue to do so.
1. Automated Voice Broadcasting: This has been the fastest method of achieving sales that I have used. Thousands of calls go out to people in under an hour and only people that are interested respond. They can be directed to your website and they can also leave their information if they want more details. This method works best with an active approach, meaning you are willing to talk to people and explain the benefits of buying from or joining you. For anyone looking for a quick start I highly recommend this method.
2. SEO (Search Engine Optimization): This is a very effective method of getting more visitors to your web site. It involves using the right keywords, meta tags and descriptions to be indexed be the search engines in order to get to page one in the search engine rankings. This is not as difficult as it sounds and can have long lasting results.
3. Blogs: Blogs are very effective and can be a very non threatening way to get people interested in you and your products. You should update the content frequently and you can also add articles written by other authors as long as they are credited. There is a lot of good content available for free.
4. Video Marketing: This can be one of the most effective methods of marketing because the search engines really like videos. These can be fairly casual and short, 3-5 minute range. They can also be submitted many sites including You Tube and I use an excellent video submission service to help with distribution.
5. Articles: Writing articles is a great way to create many links to your website. I use an article submission service to publish my articles on hundreds of web sites and anyone can reprint them as long as they include the resource box which contains my contact info and links.
6. Social Networks: This method is very efficient but also requires a hands on approach. Some of my favorite sites are Twitter, Skype and Facebook. Basically you are meeting and becoming friends with people who share similar interests and then they are willing to share and listen to your suggestions.
7. Email Marketing: This has been the least effective method for me except for my own targeted list. I am not a big fan of random email marketing.
There are other approaches including joint ventures, ezine ads, pay per click, etc that I have not covered in this article. I have tried to introduce the practices that are least expensive and that have worked best for me. Good luck in your marketing efforts!
